CJFL: Edmonton Wildcats VS Calgary Colts
August 14 2016 // Clarke Field, Edmonton, AB Canada
Football is back, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve spent a bit of time with the Edmonton Wildcats already this season at an early camp, and doing some work for their program, but this is the first game of the season—for the team, and myself. Photos are from Edmonton Wildcats VS Calgary Colts in CJFL opening week action on Saturday August 13, 2016.
Like the beginning of anything, the first game of the season brought some nerves both on the field and on the sidelines I roamed, but overall, I really felt like I came in with a nice set from the game last night. We get a great sunset out the North West corner of Clarke Field, and I certainly made good use of it.
It was a tough night for the guys. There was a plethora of flags that never let the action flow, so the game was really broken up and the offense never got moving or any rhythm most of the night. I haven’t seen the stats, but they weren’t great. Defense played good against a run game that really ran over the Wildcats last year. Jayden Dalke was in a bunch of photos so he must have been all over the ball.
Next week we travel to Winnipeg to take on the Rifles.
