Back in the Saddle with RCR
October 29 2016 // Edmonton River Valley, AB
My assignment for Lululemon ended in August, and with less sunlight and busy weekends, I haven’t been out chasing River City Runners through the Edmonton river valley on their runs. That ends today.
It took a while to shake off the rust, and with the colder temperatures—mostly lack of practice slowing my heart rate after jumping off the bike—I found I missed a lot more shots due to camera shake, but I’m still happy with what I came back with for my first time out in about 6 weeks.
I am the first to admit that I took photographing RCR and Run Collective for granted. It became routine, and in that routine, I lost the satisfaction of coming home after a 6am bike ride stalking these amazing individuals as they run around our amazing river valley—before most of the city even woke up. I’m a rectifying that by making time to join the crew on Saturdays going forward.
I can’t thank RCR enough for having me along on their runs. I missed this group of wonderful human beings more than I could have ever imagined, and it felt amazing to be out with them again.
